Who is CHANT?
Christian Homeschool Athletes of North Texas, otherwise known as CHANT, is an
organization that offers students an opportunity to participate in sports. We
believe being on a team gives student-athletes, as well as those coaching, an
opportunity to develop Godly characteristics. Our goal is to build up Godly
men and women who strive for excellence in their God-given talents.
We offer a six-man Football program and a Cheer program for high school and
middle school students. We cater to families in the North Texas area. Home
games and practices take place in Allen, Texas.
Our Mission
Chant strives to offer an opportunity where athletes can exercise their God-given talents to the best of their abilities and develop Christ-like character through the pursuit of excellence in competitive athletics.
What We Are About
CHANT believes that both the body and the mind must be consistently exercised to refine ourselves and become more like Christ. We believe through sports we exercise our body and through mentorship we exercise the mind. We use a Football and a Cheer program to accomplish these goals.
1 Corinthians 10:30–31 (ESV): 31 So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
Discipline
CHANT believes that discipline should be a core component of every student-
athlete’s life. Discipline builds and benefits the individual and the team. Therefore, we instill discipline in all we do.
“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” Hebrews 12:11-12
Achievement
CHANT plays a competitive schedule for both high school and middle school
football. The goal of any team is to win a championship. CHANT endeavors to
practice hard and compete with excellence. We want athletes to exhibit Christ-like character whether we win or lose. Our greatest achievement is to honor God in all
we do.
“I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:3
Team Values
Athletic skills are important but so are the values athletes are learning. We seek to
engage, equip, and empower athletes to work as a team. We desire to develop
athletes who are committed, persevere, communicate, and can be trusted. These
values will be built not just through practice and games but also through character building talks and mentoring.
“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
